City densification and temporal dynamics of traditional inner core of Ibadan, Nigeria

چکیده
The conversion of vegetation land cover contributes to the retention solar radiation in environment, resulting formation urban heat island. This study analyses distribution pattern island traditional core Ibadan amidst rapid urbanization experienced. remote sensing tool was used analyse trend surface temperature, normalized difference built-up index, and index for Ibadan's between year 2000 2020. reveals that increasing areas will continue strengthen effects Ibadan, while vegetated covers weaken is because anthropogenic activities from urbanisation has adversely altered natural landscape Ibadan. alteration manifests converting into physical developments other impervious surfaces by population.
